The Great Gatsby — F. Scott Fitzgerald · Chapter 1 · English → Simplified Chinese · unedited output
In my younger and more vulnerable years my father gave me some advice that I’ve been turning over in my mind ever since.
在我更年轻、更易受影响的岁月里,父亲给我的建议,我至今仍反复思索。
“Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone,” he told me, “just remember that all the people in this world haven’t had the advantages that you’ve had.”
他说:“每当你想要批评任何人的时候,你就记住,这个世界上所有的人,并不是个个都有过你拥有的那些优越条件。”
It was lonely for a day or so until one morning some man, more recently arrived than I, stopped me on the road.
起初一两天有点孤单,直到一天早上,一个比我晚到的人在路上拦住了我。

He didn’t say any more, but we’ve always been unusually communicative in a reserved way, and I understood that he meant a great deal more than that. In consequence, I’m inclined to reserve all judgements, a habit that has opened up many curious natures to me and also made me the victim of not a few veteran bores. The abnormal mind is quick to detect and attach itself to this quality when it appears in a normal person, and so it came about that in college I was unjustly accused of being a politician, because I was privy to the secret griefs of wild, unknown men. Most of the confidences were unsought—frequently I have feigned sleep, preoccupation, or a hostile levity when I realized by some unmistakable sign that an intimate revelation was quivering on the horizon; for the intimate revelations of young men, or at least the terms in which they express them, are usually plagiaristic and marred by obvious suppressions. Reserving judgements is a matter of infinite hope. I am still a little afraid of missing something if I forget that, as my father snobbishly suggested, and I snobbishly repeat, a sense of the fundamental decencies is parcelled out unequally at birth.
Before translating, we read through your book and build a glossary of people, places and special terms. Every request carries it, so “Mr. Darcy” is the same person on page 3 and page 300, and you can edit the glossary yourself.
Translations are inserted into the original file, right after each paragraph. Chapters, images, footnotes, fonts and styles stay exactly where the publisher put them.
Disagree with a sentence? Click it, fix it, re-export. The built-in editor covers every paragraph and the glossary.
Every finished batch is saved instantly. Close the tab, lose your connection or cancel, and the next run picks up exactly where it stopped.
Dozens of parallel requests with speed that adapts to the model. A full-length novel typically lands in 10–30 minutes.
The output is a standard ePub. If it reads books, it reads yours: Apple Books, Kindle via Send-to-Kindle, Calibre, KOReader.
We read every paragraph, pull the cover, and build a glossary of names and terms so the whole book is translated consistently.
Paragraph by paragraph, dozens of requests in parallel. Watch live progress, or close the tab and come back later while it keeps going.
Each translation sits right under its original paragraph. Edit anything you like, export, and read in any ePub reader.
Pay once for the book you upload. As a guide, about $1 per 100,000 characters of plain English text, $2.99 minimum; Chinese or Japanese characters count about three times as much. The exact price is shown after upload, before you pay, and covers the whole translation.
Example: the full Project Gutenberg ePub of Pride and Prejudice, about 730,000 characters, is quoted at $7.37.
For readers with a stack. Each paid month adds 6,000,000 credits. Credits are model tokens, the input plus output tokens of your translations. For scale, the full Pride and Prejudice is estimated at about 1.5 million credits; actual use is the real tokens spent. Renews every month until you cancel in Settings, and the plan stays active until the end of the paid month. Unused credits carry over. When credits run out, you can still buy any book on its own.
This page is set to Simplified Chinese. For Traditional Chinese there is a separate page, and the output is written directly in Traditional with Taiwan style names.
Yes. The Chinese reads fluently on its own, and the English stays right above it, so bilingual families can read the same book together.
