Before the team meeting, the initial scores should be reviewed by the growth lead, who might see issues that the submitter of the idea hadn’t seen or appreciated. The growth lead may suggest modifications to the score based on her past experience and consultation with other team members. It’s important that the team not get bogged down in trying to fine-tune the score too much. The score is to be used for relative prioritization and will not be perfect. A growth meeting can devolve quickly if team members squabble over a test’s impact score, for example. It’s better for the team to use the score as a valued guide, rather than the be-all and end-all for test prioritization. When there is uncertainty or concern about a score, the growth lead should use her best judgment and act decisively to keep the team moving.
